Xbox Showcase 2023: Everything That Was Announced

The festivities of Summer Game Fest continue as Microsoft brings in its Xbox Showcase. The event is a celebration of all things Xbox and what Microsoft looks to bring to the future of gaming for the Series S/Series X.

Here is a culmination of all the video games announced during the Xbox Showcase 2023, live as they happen.

Fable

Developed by Playground Games, the Fable reboot premiered in a new trailer today with confirmation of day one on Xbox Game Pass.

South of Midnight

Compulsion Games, the team behind We Happy Few revealed their new project: South of Midnight.

The game will be available on Xbox Series S/X and PC through Steam. No release date was given.

Star Wars Outlaws

Massive Entertainment’s open-world Star Wars game was revealed with a cinematic trailer. It showcases the game’s protagonist, Kay Vess. The gameplay will be shown at the Ubisoft Forward.

Star Wars Outlaws arrives in 2024 on Xbox Series S/X.

33 Immortals

33 Immortals is an upcoming game developed by Mad Lotus Studios, the team behind Spiritfarer. The new game was revealed with gameplay snippets and will feature co-op. It will be in a top-down perspective with graphics similar to Spiritfarer.

33 Immortals releases in 2024.

Payday 3

The anticipated third title in the Payday franchise was revealed, showing gameplay as well as a release date.

Payday 3 will be released on September 21 for Xbox Series X/S. Available day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Persona 3 Reload

A remake of Atlus’ Persona 3 was revealed after many rumors of its development. Gameplay and cinematics were shown which look similar to Persona 5.

Persona 3 is available in early 2024.

Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island

The next big expansion for Sea of Thieves was announced. Rare is releasing a Monkey Island collaboration with Lucasfilm Games for the pirate adventure.

The Legend of Monkey Island releases on July 20, 2023.

Avowed

The much-anticipated title from Obsidian Entertainment was revealed in a gameplay trailer today. Showcasing the magic and fantasy of its world, Eora.

Avowed is releasing in 2024 on Xbox Series X/S, Cloud, and through PC on day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Ryu Ga Gotoku’s next Yakuza series spinoff is in development. The announcement was shown with a cinematic trailer of protagonist Ichiban Kasuga waking up on a beach. No release date was given for Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Forza Motorsport

A new Forza Motorsport was revealed. The game will be a reboot of the Motorsport franchise.

Forza Motorsport is available on October 10, 2023.

Persona 5 Tactica

Atlus revealed a second Persona project in development. Persona 5 Tactica is looking to be a tactics gameplay style similar to Fire Emblem but in the Persona 5 world. The game features chibi art as its new graphic design.

Persona 5 Tactica will be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass on November 17, 2023.

Flight Simulator 2024

Developer Asobo revealed the continuation of the Flight Simulator franchise with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The trailer showcased using helicopters to transport cargo, aerial firefighting, hot air balloons, and much more.

Flight Simulator 2024 is releasing in 2024 on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Microsoft Flight Simulator x Dune

A crossover for the current Microsoft Flight Simulator was announced. The new update will feature the “thopter” from the sci-fi Dune.

The crossover is releasing on Flight Simulator on November 3, 2023.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

Senua’s Saga had a new trailer revealed, and the entire trailer was captured with in-engine footage.

As discussed previously, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will release in 2024.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of The Goddess

Capcom revealed a new action game during the Xbox Showcase. Kunitsu-Gami will be an action game featuring Japanese folklore as it`s setting, in a similar vein to a previous title Capcom developed, Onimusha.

No release date information was given but will release on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

CD Projekt Red revealed more gameplay and story for the Phantom Liberty expansion. The trailer Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand as well as Idris Elba’s character. A release date was given for the DLC as well.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is releasing on September 26, 2023.

Metaphor: ReFantazio

Atlus revealed a brand new IP. Metaphor: ReFantazio has similar asthetic looks to Persona but will have new locations and characters. It will feature turn-based combat as well as the calendar system returning from Persona.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is set to release in 2024 on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Towerborne

Stoic, the developers behind the Banner Saga franchise showcased a new title. Towerborne is an ARPG side-scroller featuring four-player co-op as well as fully customizable characters. The map will be revealed the players as they progress through the game.

Towerborne is releasing in 2024, day one on Xbox Game Pass for Series X/S, Cloud and PC.

Xbox Series S – 1 TB

Microsoft revealed that a 1 TB version of the Xbox Series S will be available. The disc-free console originally feature a 512 GB storage space but the new version will expand on that.

The Series S 1 TB will launch on September 1, 2023 with pre-orders going live later today.

Fallout 76: Atlantic City

Bethesda shared a look into the next expedition for Fallout 76. It will take players to the famed casino city on the east coast, Atlantic City.

No official release date was given for the expedition.

Cities Skylines 2

Clossal Order showed off the sequel to their acclaimed city-building sim, Cities Skylines 2. The game will be taking advantage of next-gen systems tech and will therefore be next-gen only.

A release date was also revealed for Cities Skylines 2, it wi arrive on October 24, 2023.

Clockwork Revolution

inXile Entertainment, the studio behind Wasteland 3 revealed their next title. Clockwork Revolution is an RPG featuring a steampunk setting and weaponry as well as abilites to wield.

The game is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC. There is currently no release date.

Overwatch 2 – Season 6

Blizzard gave us a first look at Season 6 of Overwatch 2. The season will bring with it the much-antcipated story missions for PvE fans. It also teases new modes called “Flashpoint” and “Hero Mastery” as we as a new co-op event.

Season 6 of Overwatch 2 and it’s “Invasion” update will launch on August 10.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom

The official trailer for ESO‘s next expansion, Necrom was delivered today. The trailer showed the new areas players will be heading to as well as the new enemies they expect to face.

Necrom is available now on Xbox Game Pass and PC/Mac. It will release on Xbox consoles on June 20, 2023.

Still Wakes The Deep

The Chinese Room, revealed their next project: Still Wakes The Deep. The developers are also known for their other titles: Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture and Dear Esther. The game is a first-person narrative horror and showcases the protagonist, an oil rig worker attempting to survive.

Still Wakes The Deep is expected to release in 2024 on Playstation, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Dungeons of Hinterberg

Microbird Games, an Austrian-based devleoper showed off their title, Dungeons of Hinterberg. A third person cel-shaded RPG that enthralls the Austrian Alps in a fantasy setting.

Dungeons of Hinterberg will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass, and PC sometime in 2024.

Jusant

Jusant was announced today by devlopers Don’t Nod, the studio behind Life is Strange. The game is an action-puzzle climbing game and the trailer showcases that climbing will be the main mechanic and mode of exploration. Check out the reveal trailer here.

Players can look to climb to new heights in Jusant when it releases on Xbox Series X/S and Game Pass in Fall 2023.
