Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games have provided an exciting glimpse into the highly anticipated Star Wars Outlaws at Ubisoft Forward 2023.
During the Ubisoft Forward showcase, Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games showcased the first-ever gameplay footage of Star Wars Outlaws. It was previously unveiled in a short trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase, but no gameplay segments were shown.
This upcoming open-world game, developed by Massive Entertainment, promises to transport players to a galaxy far, far away like never before. Set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Outlaws introduces a captivating original story filled with thrilling heists, criminal underworlds, and unforgettable characters.
What is Star Wars Outlaws?
Star Wars Outlaws plunges players into a time when the Galactic Empire is relentlessly pursuing the Rebel Alliance for their final defeat. Against this backdrop, the game introduces the cunning scoundrel Kay Vess and her loyal companion Nix, which looks a little bit like an axolotl, as they embark on a daring heist that could reshape the fate of the Outer Rim.
In Star Wars Outlaws, players will traverse a wide range of diverse and captivating environments. From the humid jungles of Akiva to the windswept savannah of Toshara, Kay Vess and Nix will journey across both familiar and fresh landscapes. The game presents bustling cities, lively cantinas, and vast outdoor terrains that can be navigated with speeders and even piloting the duo’s ship, the Trailblazer, through the vastness of space.
Kay and Nix are resourceful and adaptable, using their cunning and skills to thrive in the criminal underworld. Players can employ stealth and high-tech gadgets to retrieve valuable items while remaining undetected. Furthermore, well-timed distractions and daring stunts can be utilised to outwit enemies.
Throughout their journey, players will encounter a variety of outlaws and join forces with them. One such character is ND-5, a battle-hardened droid brought to life by Jay Rincon.
