Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Expansion Set to Release in September
CD Projekt Red has unveiled the highly anticipated spy-thriller expansion, titled Phantom Liberty, for their renowned open-world RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.
Phantom Liberty was unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase 2023. Accompanying this announcement is an exciting new trailer showcasing key story elements, characters, and the fresh content awaiting players.
What is the Phantom Liberty Expansion for Cyberpunk 2077?
In Phantom Liberty, gamers will once again assume the role of V, a cyberpunk mercenary, tasked with the crucial mission of rescuing the President of the New United States of America. After her orbital shuttle is shot down over Dogtown, Night City’s most dangerous district, players will dive deep into an intricate web of espionage and political intrigue.
The expansion offers a full-fledged, hard-hitting spy-thriller experience, set in a new location — similar to Witcher 3‘s Blood and Wine expansion.
Throughout the captivating narrative, players will encounter new characters, such as the FIA sleeper agent Solomon Reed, portrayed by Idris Elba. Returning to the cast is, of course, Keanu Reeves, reprising his role as Johnny Silverhand.
Furthermore, Phantom Liberty introduces a plethora of fresh content, including quests, gigs, and gig types, as well as new vehicles, cyberware, and weapons. To enhance gameplay variety, a brand new Relic skill tree has been added, enabling players to craft their own unique playstyle.
Phantom Liberty will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via GOG, Steam, and Epic Games Store, starting September 26th, 2023.
Pre-orders for the expansion are open now, with bonuses for those interested. The Quadra Sport R-7 “Vigilante” vehicle is available as a pre-order bonus and PlayStation users will receive three premium PlayStation Network profile avatars.
A special bundle, featuring Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty, is available for purchase, with the base game being a requirement to play the expansion.
