How to Promote Units to Advanced Classes in Unicorn Overlord
To promote units to advanced classes in Unicorn Overlord, you must reach Renown rank B and then head to any fort and select the Promote option. It costs Honors to promote each unit, and the cost per unit varies between 25 and 50. So, you’ll need to earn enough Honors in order to promote everyone to the advanced classes.
Additionally, you don’t need your units to reach a certain level or to reach a specific point in the story. Any unit can be promoted, regardless of their level, so long as you are at Renown rank B and have enough Honors.
When Should You Promote Your Units in Unicorn Overlord?
You should promote your units as soon as possible. There is absolutely no downside to promoting units, as they do not lose access to any abilities. Promoting your units will give them increased AP and PP, as well as improve their overall stats and unlock new abilities. Therefore, the sooner you do it, the sooner you’ll have access to far better soldiers.
The only caveat is that you’ll need to spend Honors to promote them, which you can save for upgrading your squad size to 5. However, it’s absolutely worth it, as the increased power will make every unit much more effective in battle.
Which Units Should You Promote First?
You should promote Alain, Hodrick, and Chloe first, as you’ll get the most benefits. Alain gets a horse when he’s promoted to High Lord, drastically improving his speed. Hodrick becomes a Legionnaire Hodrick when promoted, increasing his defense. Promoting Chloe is also incredibly important, as she becomes incredibly overpowered, especially against Knights when promoted.
