Although PlayStation and PC players have been fighting for Super Earth in Helldivers 2 for some time, Xbox players may also get their chance, according to a new rumor.
Since the launch of Helldivers 2, the game has been incredibly successful. As the game grows and evolves, so does its player base. However, Helldivers 2 missed the Xbox entirely, thanks to its PlayStation exclusivity. Nevertheless, Xbox users have been hoping that Sony will port the game over for a while now, as they’re keen to join the fight to spread democracy. Fortunately, a recent rumor claims that Xbox may indeed be getting a Helldivers 2 port.
Helldivers 2 May Be Coming to Xbox
Although the rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, according to Nick Baker from XboxEra, Helldivers 2 may be coming to Xbox. He explained on his podcast that, “There may be some very early preliminary discussions about the possibility of Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox.” The details come from the Rumor Mill segment of the XboxEra podcast.
During the segment, Baker explains that PlayStation has a new CEO because, the previous leader, Jim Ryan, retired on April 1, 2024. The implication was that this new head of Sony might be more open to collaborations with Xbox. Naturally, this includes bringing Helldivers 2 over to the platform. Whether or not this is true is currently unknown. However, with Xbox recently giving PlayStation four different titles, it would not be surprising for Sony to do the same.
Furthermore, recent details have cropped up that PlayStation exclusive Kena: Bridge of Spirits may be heading to Xbox. Keeping this in mind, we may see Helldivers 2 on Xbox at some point in the future. However, be aware that Baker from XboxEra has a particularly iffy track record regarding rumors. There is also no real confirmed source for this rumor outside of an anonymous source. So, while it could be possible, it’s worth taking all of this with a very large grain of salt.
