Medallions are one of the many new additions in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1. This rare item is crucial to your survival on the island, but can be a challenge to collect. You’ll need to take down some seriously tough bosses just to get them, but trust us when we say it’s worth it. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Medallions Explained
There are 5 Medallions to collect in Fortnite. You receive one Society Medallion for each of the five Society Bosses scattered across the island you defeat. When in your inventory, Medallions slowly recharge your shield, with each subsequent Medallion you collect charging it faster. However, once you collect a Medallion, your location will be marked on the map for all players to see. The more Medallions you collect, the more accurate your location will be for others.
You also need to defeat each Society Boss in order to access the Mod Benches, which allow you to add attachments to your guns. So, if you want an upper hand over your opponent, then you’ll want to find and kill the Society Bosses as quickly as possible. Below, we explain exactly where to find them and their Medallions.

Once you’ve reached these POIs, you’ll find each Society Boss wandering around their compounds. They’re tough to take down, but once you have, they’ll drop their Medallion.
