Is Fortnite Going to Change the Movement?

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1’s new movement changes have caused quite the controversy, and players want them fixed. But will they be changed any time soon?

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 has brought with it a large amount of surprises, including a full LEGO mode, Peter Griffin skin, and even a rockband-esque mode. Of course, while many fans are happy with the introduction of these more significant features, there are a few tweaks they don’t like. One such tweak is the movement changes, which have made the player speed far slower and introduced new animations. They’ve caused a controversy within the community, with several fans demanding that the changes be reworked or even entirely removed. However, while fans want it fixed, will the new movement changes actually be removed?

Is Fortnite Going to Fix the Movement in Chapter 5 Season 1?

Yes, it would appear that Epic Games is actively looking to improve or fix the movement in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1. They have stated that they are “exploring a few options to speed things up,” implying that some changes are on the way. While they didn’t indicate what these options entail, it’s possible that the sluggish movement may get an improvement in the near future. However, this is not an indication that the movement will be fixed completely. You can read the post for yourself below:

Of course, this somewhat contradicts their initial statement, made a few days before. It implied that the movement changes made in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 will not be changed any time soon. In the original post to the official Fortnite X account (formerly Twitter), Epic Games stated that while they hear that players aren’t happy, they hope that fans will “consider this update & that it starts to feel natural over time.” You can read the full post below:

Regardless, the reception to this post has been very positive, even if players aren’t happy with the lack of changes. Fans have praised Epic Games for their swift communication surrounding the controversy and keeping players in the loop.

In the meantime, it looks like players will need to get used to the new movement speeds. Hopefully, everyone will settle into it and enjoy the many other benefits that Chapter 5 Season 1 has brought. Until then, make sure to check out our Games Hub for more guides just like this one.
