Dicefolk: Is it Coming to the Nintendo Switch?

Nintendo Switch users will be able to participate in dice-based action, as Dicefolk is coming to the handheld console very soon.

Publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment and developers LEAP Game Studios and Tiny Ghoul launched the unique tactical roguelike, Dicefolk, to a hugely positive reception from both fans and critics alike earlier this year. However, previously it was limited to just PC, leaving console players a little in the dark. Fortunately, they’ve decided to expand Dicefolk’s audience and bring it to the Nintendo Switch.

When Will Dicefolk Be On Nintendo Switch?

Dicefolk is set to release on the Nintendo eShop on Thursday, June 20, 2024. However, those eager to grab the monster-catching game as soon as possible have the option to pre-order Dicefolk from the Nintendo eShop with a 10% discount until June 19, 2024.

Dicefolk was originally released on Stream in late February 2024 to critical acclaim from the community. Now, it sits on the “Very Positive” side, with 88% of all reviews being positive. It’s safe to say that the game has been well received by the community, and because of that, Nintendo Switch users don’t have long until they can dive into the unique game.

What Is Dicefolk?

Dicefolk is a tactical RPG roguelike that brings a new take on the classic turned-based genre. It features customizable dice and monster-catching mechanics, giving it a Pokemon-esque vibe. You’ll also decide which dice you face and influence the abilities of your team as well as the enemies’.

In Dicefolk, you play Alea, a young Dicefolk hero who happens to be a Chimera Summoner in a world on the brink of extinction. As you begin your quest, Alea encounters a myriad of formidable creatures. As you decide who joins you with your magic dice, you’ll cultivate connections and hire some of your favorite companions you find throughout the game. You’ll be able to fully utilize your chimera’s abilities to your team’s strengths to defeat the evil sorcerer, Salem, ultimately releasing the land from his grasp.
