The release date of the Silent Hill 2 remake has been a mystery. However, a new Steam update may change that.
Silent Hill 2 has been showcased at multiple events, including the latest PlayStation State of Play in February. However, despite being announced a while back, we’ve still not gotten any closer to learning its official release date. Well, thanks to a new Steam update, we may now know its possible release date. Fortunately for fans, it could be sooner than you think.
Silent Hill 2 Release Date Rumors
On March 14, 2024, the Silent Hill 2 game page was updated in Steam DB with the addition of achievement languages. As such, many rumors began to swirl about the possible release date of the long-awaited horror title.
The game received a rating from Korea, which usually signals that a game could be released soon. However, that is not all. According to known insider shinobi602, who previously discussed Stellar Blade releasing in April, Silent Hill 2 is planning to be released in May. Of course, none of this information is official and should be taken with a grain of salt. However, it seems much more likely, with the Steam DB update and the game receiving ratings, that a release date for Silent Hill 2 is approaching soon.
As we still haven’t received an official release date for the game from Konami, it is possible that it could be revealed by surprise. Rumors are beginning to rise of a new PlayStation State of Play, and the potential for a Silent Hill 2 date would only seem to line things up more with a May launch. However, until we hear an official announcement from Konami, we’ll just have to wait and see.
