Rise of the Ronin: Is It Coming to PC?

If you were holding out on playing Rise of the Ronin on PC, it’s safe to say that you might be a little disappointed.

Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin is one of the most hotly anticipated PlayStation games set to release in 2024. It looks to merge frantic swordplay and open-world exploration, all against the beautiful backdrop of a war-torn 19th-century Japan. Despite many PlayStation games releasing on PC lately, it looks like Rise of the Ronin won’t be making its way to the platform at launch. However, there may be a sliver of hope for those who are patient enough to wait.

Will Rise of the Ronin Be on PC?

No, Rise of the Ronin will not be coming to PC, at least not at launch. When the game releases on Friday, March 22, it will only come out on as a PS5-exclusive title. However, there is still a possibility it will come to PC in the future. After all, previous PlayStation-exclusive games, such as Helldivers 2, have made their way to the platform in recent years. If so, its release window on PC would probably be at least a year after its launch on PS5. This is based on the typical release pattern of other PlayStation games being ported to PC.

According to the game’s official FAQ page, it will launch only for the PS5. It states that Team Ninja built Rise of the Ronin “exclusively” for the PlayStation 5 console and won’t come out for the PlayStation 4. Team Ninja hasn’t confirmed or denied Rise of the Ronin’s appearance on PC, which might indicate a possible launch on the platform in the future. For now, though, it seems the only way you’ll be able to play Rise of the Ronin is if you have access to a PlayStation 5 console.
