No Rest for the Wicked: Is There Multiplayer Co-Op?

No Rest for the Wicked promises a gorgeous and huge ARPG experience, but can you play it with your buddies in multiplayer co-op?

One of the staples of modern-day ARPGs is multiplayer co-op. Being able to explore these fascinating worlds with your friends and take on hordes of enemies is endlessly fun. Fortunately, developer Moon Studios is going to incorporate this into their aRPG, No Rest for the Wicked. However, it’s a little different from how other aRPGs have approached it.

Does No Rest for the Wicked Have Multiplayer Co-Op?

Yes, No Rest for the Wicked will have four-player multiplayer co-op, but not on the Early Access launch day of April 18. Instead, it is coming in Update 1, the first of many updates coming during the game’s Early Access period. This was revealed in the game’s roadmap released by the developers Moon Studios and is slated to release sometime after April 18. While there isn’t a confirmed date of when fans can expect multiplayer co-op to be added, we suspect it will be added a few months after launch.

Players will be able to share their world with up to three other friends and progress through the game’s entire campaign together. You won’t be tethered together, and any player can venture off in a different direction if they so wish. No Rest for the Wicked has been designed with multiplayer in mind. So, fans can rest assured that when it drops, it will be a rewarding experience.

How Does Multiplayer Co-Op Work in No Rest for the Wicked

Players can create a realm in No Rest for the Wicked and then invite up to three of their friends to join them. Enemies will scale depending on how many players you have in your realm. For example, if you have the maximum amount of players, then expect the number of enemies as well as their health and damage to be quite high.

However, if you have a higher level player join you, the game won’t scale to match it. So, make sure you only allow players around the same level as you or lower. Otherwise, you may find the experience to be a little too easy. Fortunately, if any of your teammates die, you can revive them. You’ll just need to be quick about it.

Finally, there are currently no plans for local co-op. In a forum post, Moon Studio’s founder, Thomas Mahler, explained that while he loves local co-op, it would take “a ton of work.” However, while there aren’t currently any plans, he doesn’t rule it out completely. He reassured fans by saying, “Maybe in the future!” So, while there isn’t local co-op in No Rest for the Wicked, there may be in the future.
