LEGO Fortnite brings a wonderful sense of adventure and has plenty of secrets for players to find. One is the much sought-after Lava Cave. These lava-filled caves are full of challenging enemies and extreme heat, which can cause you to die in the blink of an eye. However, with high risk comes high reward. These terrifying caves have many precious resources to mine and chests to find with high-rarity loot inside them. Below, we outline how to find and prepare for these intense caves.

Where to Find Lava Caves in LEGO Fortnite
Lava Caves are only located deep in the Dry Valley Biome in LEGO Fortnite. Unlike typical Caves around LEGO Fortnite, Lava Caves can only be found by spotting them when venturing through the desert, as the icon does not appear on the map like regular caves. However, once you leave the cave, an icon will appear on your map, marking it for you. Additionally, you can check the coordinates in the bottom lefthand corner of your Map.
Lava Caves look similar to regular caves, albeit with more sand surrounding them. They may even be hidden in ravines or hard-to-find locations. Lava Caves also specifically have less flora and fauna than regular caves, which helps them stay hidden in plain sight. You’ll know you’re in a Lava Cave when you find plenty of Lava inside. Additionally, it’s worth noting that you can enter a specific seed code when starting a new world in order to increase the chances of Lava Caves spawning. You can check out our guide on seeds here.
How to Prepare For Lava Caves in LEGO Fortnite
To prepare for Lava Caves in LEGO Fortnite, you will need to craft heat resistance charms, such as the Cool-Headed Charm, and stock up on Snowberries. Additionally, it’s important to bring a powerful weapon. This is because you’ll have to contend with challenging enemies in Lava Caves and the extreme heat, which will slowly damage you.
To craft a Cool-Headed Charm, you’ll need an Uncommon Crafting Table or higher. Crafting the highest rarity you can of the Cool-headed Charm is beneficial, as it increases the amount of heat resistance it gives you. If you can’t craft a Cool-Headed Charm, then you can bring Snowberries. These will give you two minutes of heat resistance per Snowberry, although this alone won’t be enough to survive for very long in a Lava Cave.
Additionally, you’ll want to craft weapons of uncommon rarity or higher and Charms to improve your armor. These will help you deal with the tough enemies inside and outside the Lava Caves. Common weapons won’t be enough on their own. So, if you only have access to them, then we recommend bringing one of your villagers along with you. They’ll protect you from swarms of enemies.
What Can Be Found in Lava Caves in LEGO Fortnite?
Each cave system in LEGO Fortnite has something different for players to explore. Due to caves being one of the main exploring points of LEGO Fortnite, different levels of difficulty are found in each type of cave. This also includes the many rare materials and mineable resources to find within them. Here are a list of the resources you can expect to find when venturing through the Lava Caves:
- Obsidian
- Rough Copper
- Chests containing assorted resources and food
- Brightcore
- Rough Ruby
