How Long to Beat Unicorn Overlord

Much like Vanillaware’s other games, Unicorn Overlord is shaping up to be a lengthy adventure. Here is exactly how long it will take you to beat it.

Vanillaware is known for its long JRPGs. For example, both 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir takes players upwards of 36 hours to complete. However, it’s looking like their latest game, Unicorn Overlord, will be their longest. After several years of development and fine-tuning, it is now set to take players on a grand adventure that could last up to 100 hours.

How Long Is Unicorn Overlord?

It will take players 50 hours to complete Unicorn Overlord’s main story and see the credits roll. To beat all of the side content, it will take 70 hours. However, to complete absolutely everything the game has to offer, it will take you 100 hours. This includes liberating all towns, completing every side quest, and unlocking every character.

This runtime is according to the game’s lead game designer, Wataru Nakanishi, who spoke with Game Informer about Unicorn Overlord’s development. Of course, there’s plenty of optional content for players to grind through, which could see your runtime balloon even further. However, even for those who rush through the main story, you’re still looking at a lengthy experience.

Fortunately, if you’re unsure whether you’re ready to commit to a 50-hour adventure, you can check out Unicorn Overlord’s free demo, which offers a pretty long slice of the game’s opening. It’s also possible that this runtime could be further extended with DLC. However, Vanillaware has not confirmed whether it will be getting DLC in the future. For now, that’s everything you need to know about Unicorn Overlord’s runtime. For more guides just like this one, be sure to check out our Guide Hub.
