The Unicorn Overlord demo is 7 hours long. It is time-gated, meaning once players reach 7 hours of gameplay, the demo ends automatically, regardless of what you are doing. Fortunately, you can choose to carry over your save data to the full game, meaning that you can pick up right where the demo left off. You won’t have to replay the entire 7 hours again unless you decide to do so. Of course, if you weren’t happy with your characters or wanted to try out different routes, then it might be worth starting again.
This length isn’t uncommon for a JRPG demo, as the Dragon Quest XI demo allowed you to play for up to 10 hours, Triangle Strategy had a 5-hour demo, and even the recent Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has a very long demo. Of course, being a strategy game, it makes sense that players can invest a significant amount of time into the demo, as it would be hard to get a clear picture of what all Unicorn Overlord’s systems are like in just an hour or two.
