Unicorn Overlord looks to be another successful tactical JRPG from the developer of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Odin Sphere. While a demo is available, many are curious when the review embargo for the full game will be lifted. Review embargos allow studios to prevent too much gameplay and story spoilers from being revealed early. Below, we go into detail on when players can expect reviews to be released for Unicorn Overlord.
When Does the Unicorn Overlord Review Embargo Lift?
The Unicorn Overlord review embargo will end on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 9 am PST, 12 pm EST, 5 pm GMT, and 4 am AEDT (March 8). This is just one day before the launch of Unicorn Overlord, meaning players will have just over 24 hours to weigh up whether to pre-order the game or not.
It’s worth noting that this is not an officially announced date. Rather, it is based on previous review embargo patterns from Vanillaware. Initially it was believed that the review embargo would lift earlier. In the past, Vanillaware has lifted the review embargo early, such as when reviews for the Nintendo Switch version of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim went out on April 7, 2022, which was 5 days before its release date on April 12, 2022. Similarly, Persona 3 Reload, which was developed by Unicorn Overlord’s publisher, Atlus, lifted the review embargo 4 days prior to release as well.
