Medal in Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2: Is There a Medal Cap?

Players grinding Medals in Helldivers 2 may realize that, eventually, they stop earning them. So, does that mean there’s a Medal cap?

Helldivers 2 has a number of currencies for players to earn. From Super Credits to Medals, there’s no shortage of things to grind. However, if you’ve been trying to save up your collection of Medals, you may have noticed that you stop earning them after a certain point. Unfortunately, this isn’t a glitch, and the game does indeed have a Medal cap.

Is There a Medal Cap in Helldivers 2?

Yes, there is a Medal cap in Helldivers 2. You can only have a maximum of 250 Medals at one time. If you unlock any additional Medals once you hit this cap, you’ll lose them. They won’t be stored for later use. This becomes a problem if you’ve already completed the Warbonds, as you won’t have anything left to spend your hard-earned Medals on.

So, let’s say you’ve completed both Warbonds. If you were to complete a Major Order and unlock 45 Medals after having already accumulated 250, you’d lose those 45 Medals. It’s a shame, as it’s quite easy to hit the 250 target, especially considering that Major Orders give out a huge amount of medals at once.

Why Is There a Medal Cap in Helldivers 2?

There is a Medal cap in Helldivers 2 to prevent players from saving up and buying everything at once. It’s done to encourage players to work hard whenever the new Warbond drops, as opposed to unlocking everything and then quit playing. It makes sense as if you complete the Warbond immediately, you’ll have nothing to work for.

This also applies to samples and Requisition Slips, which are also capped. Here is what everything is capped at:

  • Medals – 250
  • Requisition Slips – 50,000
  • Common Samples – 500
  • Rare Samples – 250
  • Super Rare Samples – 100

Just like with Medals, if you go over these caps, you’ll lose any leftovers. So, be sure to spend your hard-earned Medals, Samples, and Requisition Slips as soon as possible. Otherwise, you may be playing for absolutely no gain. That’s everything you need to know about a Medal cap in Helldivers 2. For more guides just like this one, be sure to check out our Guide Hub.
