Yuffie will join Cloud and his gang during the events of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. But just how long do you have to wait until she brightens the team’s mood with her sunny attitude?
In the original Final Fantasy 7, players would first meet Yuffie as a random encounter. If you defeated her, and then spoke to her, you had the chance of recruiting her to your party. However, if you left the area or failed the conversation, she would disappear and wouldn’t be recruitable again. Fortunately, things are a little different in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and Yuffie will automatically join your party at a certain point in the story. Below, we explain exactly when she joins you, so you don’t have to wait wondering.
When Does Yuffie Join You in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
Yuffie officially joins the party at the end of Chapter 6 in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, just as you’re about to leave Costa del Sol. However, you will meet Yuffie much earlier in Chapter 4 when you visit Junon. When you first meet her in Chapter 4, she’s relaxing in a fishing boat that is swiftly capsized by the Terror. After saving her, she’ll tell you to meet her at the inn, but she never shows up.
Instead, she turns up in Costa del Sol much later on and challenges Cloud to a duel. Here, you are presented with two options, “Beat it” or “Bring it,” although neither affects whether or not she joins you. They also don’t affect her relationship with Cloud. Regardless of which one you pick, Yuffie will then officially join the party and will accompany you for the rest of the game.
Once she joins your party, she becomes a controllable member in combat. If you’ve played the Intermission DLC, then you’ll know what to expect from Yuffie’s fighting style.
