Although it may seem like you could miss a side quest or two, once you complete the story, Chapter Select is unlocked. This feature allows players to experience an entire chapter again and collect what they missed. Additionally, because the game features an open world, players can complete side quests they may have skipped past when they unlock the ability to return to a specific region through the Chocobo Carriage. Furthermore, weapons can be purchased later on from weapon vendors throughout the regions. Allowing players to collect all weapons at their leisure. Regarding Trophies, none of those are missable. These can also be earned either through your first playthrough or via the Chapter Select.
Lastly, as a prominent gameplay feature is relationships between characters, they can be revisited using the Chapter Select option and starting the entire Chapter over again. Although restarting story segments may seem impractical, they still present an alternative to not missing out on items or narrative moments.
