Dragon’s Dogma 2: When Is the Review Embargo?

With players so close to getting their hands on Dragon’s Dogma 2, many have begun to wonder just when the review embargo will drop.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been long in the making, and fans of the original are still likely in disbelief that it’s releasing in just a matter of days. Getting their hands on what is likely to be one of the biggest games of the year is exciting, but it doesn’t mean that they’re not still keen to read reviews. After all, while the marketing has done a great job of selling the game even to newcomers, the reviews could still be negative. Fortunately, you won’t have to wait long for the review embargo to drop.

When Does the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Review Embargo Drop?

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 review embargo will drop on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. This is 2 days before the game’s full release on Friday, March 22, 2024. This should give players plenty of time to decide whether or not to pre-order the game.

It’s important to note that this isn’t based on an official date given by Capcom. Rather, it is based on when Capcom typically lifts its review embargos. Reviews for Street Fighter 6 came out on May 30, which was 4 days before its release on June 2. Similarly, reviews for Resident Evil 4 came out 7 days before its release date.

Of course, it’s possible that reviews may drop later or even earlier. However, we suspect that reviews will be released between Monday, March 18, and Friday, March 22. If you cannot wait that long, then there are plenty of previews available, many of which complained about the game’s poor framerate. Alternatively, you can try out the free demo, which gives players access to the comprehensive character creation tool. 1. While I did learn something, a bit, about embargoes, don’t you think it’s rather counter-productive to write an article like this one?
