Content Warning: Everything You Need to Know

Content Warning has taken the indie world by storm, promising a hilarious horror co-op experience. If you’re not sure what to expect, here’s everything you need to know.

Much like the incredibly popular Lethal Company before it, Content Warning promises to make your Saturday evenings with your mates a whole lot more fun and just a tad more spooky. It’s a runaway hit, already boasting impressive numbers on Steam, with a great gameplay hook. You and your friends must make videos for SpookTube by heading into the Old World with your trusty camera and film all the gruesome and horrifying things down there. If you can make it back to the surface alive, you’ll be able to upload your footage and watch as the views and money roll in. That is if the monsters don’t get you first. If you’re at all intrigued by the sound of Content Warning, then make sure you check out all the info below.

Content Warning Platforms

Content Warning is currently only available on PC via Steam. It was not released into Early Access and instead has been released as a full game. It will not be released for PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch at launch. You can check out its Steam store page here.

Is It Coming to Xbox?

No, Content Warning is not coming to Xbox. There have been no officially announced plans to bring Content Warning to Xbox. However, as it has been published by Landfall Games, the developers of TABs, Stick Fight, Cluster Truck, and more, it will likely be ported eventually. All of Landfall Games’ games are multi-platform, and it will likely only be a matter of time before Content Warning is released on Xbox.

Is It Coming to PlayStation?

No, Content Warning is not coming to PlayStation. Landfall Games has not announced any plans to port the game over. However, much like a potential Xbox version, it’s likely that the game could be ported to PlayStation in the future. Unfortunately, there is no word on when a version may be released.

Content Warning Price

Content Warning costs $7.99/£6.69 on Steam. This is for the full game, as there are currently no forms of microtransactions, and it is not in Early Access. The price is not expected to change at any point outside of potential future discounts.

It’s worth noting that between 9 am PT on April 1, 2024 (the day it was officially released) and 9 am PT on April 2nd, it was completely free to keep. This was done as part of “Landfall Day,” an annual event in which publisher and developer Landfall Games offer up discounts or release new games.

How Many Players in Content Warning?

Content Warning is a horror co-op game for between 2 to 4 players. You can play it solo, although it’s much tougher as you preferably need at least 2 players, one to film and one to be filmed, in order to get the most views. Additionally, you cannot have over 4 players at once.

However, there are mods that expand the number of players you can have in one lobby. The mod Virality increases the lobby size exponentially, allowing up to 200 players per lobby. Another mod was shared via X, showcasing far more than 4 players in one server. You can see it below.

Does Content Warning Have Mods?

Yes, Content Warning has mod support, and there are already a number of mods available for the game. However, to install any of the mods, you’ll first need to install BepInEx. This ensures that the mods will be compatible with Content Warning.

Once you’ve installed that, you can check out the game’s modding Discord server or Thunderstore page to find the best mods for you. You can check out our full mod guide here.
