Unicorn Overlord: Is There New Game Plus?

Unicorn Overlord lets players unlock a new difficulty mode after beating the game, but is there also a New Game Plus mode?

Unicorn Overlord allows you to recruit over 70 characters. So, it’s no surprise that players who missed some might want to get them in a New Game Plus mode. After all, the ability to bring over a lot of your hard-earned equipment and characters into a tougher save would add a whole new level of challenge to the already impressive tactical strategy game. Unfortunately, while players can make the game harder after beating the game, it doesn’t look like they’ll get all the perks of a New Game Plus mode.

Does Unicorn Overlord Have New Game Plus?

No, Unicorn Overlord does not currently have a New Game Plus mode. You won’t be able to carry over unlocked units or any equipment or items you’ve gained into a second playthrough. After beating the main game you unlock an additional difficulty called True Zenoiran, but you do not unlock New Game Plus.

The True Zenoiran difficulty mode makes the game considerably harder. It adds permadeath as members of defeated units cannot be redeployed. Additionally, it increases enemy HP and damage, as well as reduces every item’s use limit to 5, and removes the ability to use Hallowed Corne Ash. Essentially, it makes the game brutally difficult, perfect for anyone who didn’t find Expert challenging enough.

Of course, it is possible that a New Game Plus mode could eventually be added to Unicorn Overlord. While there has been no official confirmation, if enough fans request it, it’s likely that the developers will add it. However, it’s worth noting that Vanillaware’s other games, including 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim, did not feature a New Game+ mode.

That’s everything you need to know about Unicorn Overlord’s New Game Plus mode. For more guides just like this one, be sure to check out our Guide Hub.
