Pokemon Go: Can You Get A Shiny Grubbin?

Grubbin, the Larva Pokemon, is set to be in the spotlight for the September 2023 Pokemon Go Community Day, which means a Shiny Grubbin might be on the cards.

The September 2023 Pokemon Go Community Day will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, and naturally, players will want to catch a Shiny.

Can You Catch A Shiny Grubbin in Pokemon Go?

Fortunately, you can catch a Shiny Grubbin in Pokemon Go. When the event starts, players can grab themselves a Shiny variant of Grubbin at an increased rate.

The likelihood of encountering a Shiny Grubbin in Pokemon Go stands at a low 0.2%, equating to a 1 in 500 chance. However, during Community Day, Trainers can take advantage of the increased Shiny rate of 1 in 25, or 4%. So make sure you head out and make the most of the upcoming Community Day.

What Does Shiny Grubbin Look Like?

Shiny Grubbin is a slight improvement to the original, and will definitely be a good addition to anyone’s collection. The original has an orange tinge to it when compared to the red and pink colouring of the Shiny.

Grubbin’s evolutions will also be available to catch as Shiny. Charjabug, the first evolution, keeps the red colour from Shiny Grubbin, completely transforming it from the original green colour. The final evolution, Vikavolt, adopts a silver and fluro green colouring as opposed to the original’s yellow and blue. You can see the Shiny variations below.

Shiny Grubbin is a noticeable improvement from the original, so it’s always great to add another distinct Shiny to the collection. Make sure you check out our Game Hub for all the latest guides on Pokemon Go.
