Once Human: Release Date, Platforms, Gameplay Trailer & Everything We Know

Once Human is an upcoming MMO survival game from developer Starry Studio. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

After the travesty that was The Day Before, people are in dire need of a good survival MMO. Well, it would appear that Starry Studio is aiming to fill that apocalypse-sized hole with their upcoming game, Once Human. Having already released a closed beta, hype for this game is building quickly. So, we thought we’d break down everything there is to know about Once Human for you below.

Once Human Release Date

Once Human is expected to be released in Q3 2024. While a specific date has not been announced, players can expect to see it drop between July and September. The game is currently in a closed beta, which you can sign up for here. However, due to the sheer number of players wanting to participate, the developers are limiting the number of participants.

Once Human All Platforms

So far, Once Human has only been announced for PC via Steam. Players shouldn’t expect it to launch initially on consoles, as it appears to be a PC exclusive for the time being. However, it is extremely likely that if the game proves to be successful, it will receive console ports. If that happens, it’s likely that crossplay will be implemented, allowing people to play together regardless of what platform they’re on.

What Is Once Human?

Once Human is an MMO survival game set in a dark and creepy post-apocalyptic world. The world has become infected, including the plants and animals, and only meta-humans can survive the infestation. You’ll have to tough it out in this apocalypse, either alone or with friends while collecting new gear, building bases, and uncovering the secrets behind Stardust, the alien creature that started the apocalypse.

Many are comparing the game favorably to what they’d hoped The Day Before would be. It’s a massive, open-world survival game with customization, base building, and a mystery at its core. The Beta has been received positively, with the developer, Starry Studio, quick to respond to feedback. You can wishlist the game for yourself via its Steam store page.
