No Rest for the Wicked: Do Enemies Respawn?

No Rest for the Wicked has you tearing through many enemies to get XP, but you may wonder if they respawn. The answer is not so simple.

No Rest for the Wicked has players traversing a world and taking down enemies. There are various regions to travel through. Many may have noticed that after clearing out the different areas in each region, enemies are not returning. Of course, it would be hard to grind XP if enemies don’t return to be slaughtered again. Fortunately, they do in No Rest for the Wicked, but it is a little complicated. Below we explain how to get enemies to respawn.

Do Enemies Respawn in No Rest for the Wicked?

Fortunately for players, slain enemies do respawn in No Rest for the Wicked. Players must move between the different regions in order to get enemies to respawn (as do acquired resources). However, the enemies that respawn in the revisited regions will not be the same ones that players have fought previously.

Much like other ARPGs, such as Diablo 4, which procedurally generate dungeons, No Rest for the Wicked randomly spawns new enemies and materials in each region when you revisit it. This ensures that players won’t be forced to grind the same repetitive area in order to level up. Instead, it encourages players to revisit locations and encounter new enemy types while keeping the experience fresh.

Do Enemies Respawn Upon Death in No Rest for the Wicked?

Unfortunately, enemies do not respawn upon the player dying in No Rest for the Wicked. If a region is cleared and the player happens to die in that region, it will not trigger a respawn. Therefore, players can not manipulate the game, allowing them to farm enemies in one region. Once the area is clear, continuing to the next region and slaying foes there is advised.

Does Fast Traveling Respawn Enemies in No Rest for the Wicked?

No, using fast travel (Cerim Whispers) does not trigger enemies to respawn in any matter in No Rest for the Wicked. If you fast travel to a different area within the same region enemies won’t respawn. It’s only when you’ve left a region and returned that the enemies there will reappear.

That is everything to know about if enemies respawn in No Rest for the Wicked. There is plenty to see and do in the game as it continues in Steam Early Access. If you want to learn more, be sure to head to our Guide Hub.
