Many people are wondering if Diablo 4, the latest entry in the Diablo franchise, will be on Xbox Game Pass due to the recent Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Players love Xbox Game Pass and adding the game to the service would be a way for Microsoft to promote the game and attract new subscribers.
Is Diablo 4 on Xbox Game Pass?
Unfortunately no, Diablo 4 is not available on Xbox Game Pass. The game is not an Xbox first-party title, so it is not guaranteed to be included on Game Pass.
However, Microsoft has been acquiring several game developers in recent years, including Activision Blizzard, the publisher of Diablo. This could lead to Diablo 4 being added to Xbox Game Pass as part of a larger deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
When is Diablo 4 Coming to Xbox Game Pass?
While there is no official statement from Microsoft or Activision Blizzard on whether or not Diablo 4 will be added to Game Pass, there has been a mention by a key influential account on the decision.
Rod Fergusson, the General Manager of the Diablo franchise, make a statement on Twitter during the beta, stating “We’ve been getting some questions about Diablo 4 on Game Pass and I want to let you know we have no plans for that.”
Fortunately, there is still hope for fans as it isn’t a definite no, and rather a mention that it isn’t something they have considered, yet. I’m sure adding the game to Xbox Game Pass would be received incredibly well by fans as it would allow people to play the game without committing to the full purchase.
Diablo 4 will release for Standard Edition owners on June 5, 2023. The game is a direct sequel to Diablo 3 and will feature a new story, characters, and gameplay mechanics.
Diablo 4 is a major release for the action RPG genre, and it could be a major addition to Xbox Game Pass if it is added to the service.
