New Assassin’s Creed Red Details Leak From Stealthy Playtester, With Possible Release Date

Assassin’s Creed Red is all about Feudal Japan, and it seems a Ubisoft playtester has been leaking details from the dark like a true Shinobi.

Ubisoft is looking to Assassin’s Creed Red for their next release in the long-running action series. Earlier in March, reports had come forward that the game seems to be an evolution of its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, new details on the title of the Feudal Japan era have come out of the shadows, this time from a supposed playtester for Ubisoft.

New Possible Assassin’s Creed Red Leaks Detailed

The Assassin’s Creed Red leaks detail different story points, gameplay details like better parkour physics, and even a release date of October. The info comes from Cygus Lorman on Reddit, who details that a Ubisoft playtester has revealed this news and detailed various things.

When it comes to the story of the game, Assassin’s Creed Red will follow two protagonists, Naoi/Naoe, the female shinobi, and Yasuke, the male samurai. The motivations of both characters will meet during the story. Players are also believed to start in the prologue as a child before time skips. Furthermore, players can swap between the two different characters at their hideout.

Regarding the gameplay, players can expect the staple of parkour traversal to return. However, it will be improved to feel more fluid for players. Additionally, players can use a grappling hook to access much higher structures, including in the densely populated cities coming to the game. The leaks also reveal that Assassin’s Creed Red will not feature any New Game Plus mode or transmog system for clothing.

Lastly, the significant point of a release window is detailed in the leaks. It looks as though Assassin’s Creed Red aims to be released in October of this year. This is not a far cry from other titles in the series. Assassin’s Creed Mirage, for example, launched on October 12, 2023, and Valhalla before that on November 10, 2020. So we could likely see Feudal Japan setting gracing consoles sooner than we think.
