The Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagon is a beautiful piece of tech. The light panels come in hexagonal shapes, allowing you to create various patterns on your wall. The modular nature of these panels means you can arrange them in any design you can think of, whether a simple layout or a complex piece of art. Each panel emits bright and vibrant colors that can light up any room, making it a lighting solution and a decorative piece.
Unfortunately, a design aspect of the Nanoleaf Shapes product proved to be a source of frustration for me. The rounded edges of the hexagon-shaped tile corners prevent a seamless flush connection and result in gaps in the lighting. These rounded edges can be found in all products in the Shapes range, and once I saw it, my eyes refused to look anywhere else.
Nevertheless, the overall build quality of the Nanoleaf Shapes is top-notch. The panels connect easily, ensuring a secure fit that adds to the overall sleek look of the setup. The enclosed mounting system is sturdy and designed to be non-damaging to walls. However, with the large size of the adhesive, I would still be concerned with putting it on painted surfaces due to the damage risk. On the positive, these tiles have been designed to be much easier to remove than the Nanoleaf Canvas product.

Regarding performance, the Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagon is excellent, like other Nanoleaf products. The brightness and color quality are exceptional, with the ability to display millions of colors that can be adjusted to fit any mood or setting. Whether you’re watching a movie, hosting a party, or just relaxing at home, these lights can enhance the experience by setting the perfect ambiance.
The user experience is equally impressive. Setting up the Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagon is straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions and the intuitive design of the panels. Once installed, controlling the lights is a breeze. You can use touch gestures directly on the panels to turn them on or off, change colors, or switch between preset scenes.

However, if you are looking for a high-quality product with many integration options, deep, beautiful colors, and a range of customization, the Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagon is a worthwhile product.
If you aren’t a fan of the Hexagon shape, you can also purchase the Nanoleaf Shapes Triangles or Mini-Triangles starter packs that also come in a pack of 9. Moreover, you can purchase expansion kits of any of the three designs and mix and match them with full compatibility. Perhaps if the budget allows, you could create some weird and beautiful designs with a combination of the Shapes kits.
