Here’s everything you need to know about the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon.

It has been seven years since the Nintendo Switch was released worldwide, capturing the attention of all kinds of players. As Xbox and PlayStation prepare for the next launch of their upcoming consoles, fans of the Nintendo Switch are curious about what its next addition to the console wars will be.

Everything We Know About The Next Nintendo Switch Console

A recent Mobapad article has provided exclusive information about the Switch 2, including brand-new details. Below, we discuss everything we know so far about the Nintendo Switch 2.

One of the biggest questions surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 is whether it will feature backward compatibility. Fortunately, players can get excited, as the Switch 2’s cartridge slot will support backward compatibility with physical Switch game cartridges, which will also include digital versions. This also includes the Joy-Cons and the Pro Controller on the current Switch. However, Switch 2 exclusive cartridges won’t be compatible with the original Switch.

Although the current Switch Joy-Cons and Pro Controller are compatible, the upcoming Joy-Cons have been upgraded. Not only are the new Joy-Cons larger in volume, but they will also connect to the Switch 2 with a magnetic suction, which is achieved via electromagnetic suction technology controlled by an electrical current, as opposed to the sliding rail that is currently being used on the original Switch. Not only will the SL and SR buttons be metal, but the L, ZL, R, and ZR will feature a brand new button on both the left and right sides of the Joy-Cons. An additional function button on the right Joy-Con will also be featured under the HOME button.

As for the dock, the Nintendo Switch 2 will include a damping bracket on the back which will allow users to have a larger selection of adjustable angles at their disposal. A USB-C port will still be featured for docking; however, the dock will feature minor changes as it will enhance performance, supporting a 4K resolution on the Nintendo Switch 2. The screen itself will also be supporting 1080P resolution as it will also have an 8-inch display.

When Is The Nintendo Switch 2 Releasing?

Unfortunately, there is no confirmed information for when the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released as Nintendo has not put out an official statement. However, it is speculated that the console will become available in early 2025. Of course, as with all Nintendo Switch 2 rumors, this should be taken with a grain of salt.
