Mew and Mewtwo are arriving at a special in-game event titled Get Mew & Mewtwo. This will mark the debut of the Pokemon in the Paldea region. Here is exactly how players can grab themselves a free Lvl 5 Mew.
How to Get Mew For Free in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
Here are the steps to obtain a free Mew in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:
- Load up Pokemon Scarlet or Violet
- Open the Menu and Select Poke Portal
- Select Mystery Gift
- Choose Get with Code/Password
- Enter code “GETY0URMEW”
- Choose “Mythical Pokemon Mew Gift”
- Receive Lvl 5 Mew in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Can You Catch Mewtwo in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
Alongside the release of Mew in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Mewtwo will also be available. However, Mewtwo isn’t quite as easy to get, and instead, you will have to catch them.
A special Tera Raid Battle event will occur between September 1, 2023, at 10 am AEST and September 18, at 9:59 am AEST, where players can battle and catch a Mewtwo with the Mightiest Mark.
This latest update paves the way for the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask. This update will launch on September 13, 2023, and send players on a school trip to Kitakami. There will be new Pokemon to catch and a new narrative to enjoy, with Part 2 of the adventure coming at a later date.
