Helldivers 2 Players Spot Hive Lords, Are Convinced They Will Return

Helldivers 2 players have spotted the evidence of Hive Lords while roaming out in the wild and are sure they will be heading to the game soon.

For the uninitiated, Hive Lords are huge skulking worm-like creatures that appeared in the first Helldivers game. Back then, this intimidating Terminid boss enemy would slither its way underground through underground tunnels. It’d put up a hell of a fight when it finally popped up above the surface to say hello. Although Hive Lords have yet to appear officially, some astute players have spotted evidence of them while clambering about in-game. They may be coming to ruin your day again very soon.

Are Hive Lords in Helldivers 2?

No, Hive Lords aren’t officially in the game… yet. No one has properly seen one of these things slithering about in-game, but there is more than evidence of their presence in Helldivers 2. Players have posted online what appear to be Hive Lord carcasses or skeletons, which hint at their existence. Similarly, some fans have pointed out that the newly added tremors sound suspiciously like a great hulking worm beast moving about just under the surface.

However, there have been no Hive Lord bosses in the game yet. Despite this, many players are convinced that Hive Lords are just around the corner for Helldivers 2. One Reddit user points out that the gargantuan Hive Lord skeleton players spotted in the field are their “molts.” This suggests these hideous creatures are even more impossibly large than previously imagined. It also hints at their lurking presence on Terminid-controlled planets. Check out what they look like below:

If that wasn’t enough evidence, fans also point out that the tremors that can be heard in-game sound suspiciously like an enormous worm creature skulking about below ground. Take a listen for yourself:

It seems that all evidence points towards the presence of Hive Lords in Helldivers 2, with it only being a matter of time before they make their terrifying presence known to the defenders of Super Earth. If the first Helldivers is anything to go by, these intimidating creatures will be quite a handful to deal with. We recommend chucking a few Eagle 500kg bombs at it to see if that sticks.
