Genshin Impact Version 2.3

Everything You Need to Know About The Genshin Impact 2.3 Update

On November 24th, Genshin Impact receives its next update in the form of version 2.3, which includes a new world boss, events, artifacts, powerful weapons and more. The new quests in 2.3 also bring the player back to Dragonspine along with some familiar faces, and Artifacts in this update will make Geo characters and healers more viable in the current meta.

Characters & Double Banner

The 5-star characters, Albedo and Eula, are both getting a rerun banner. But for the first time in the history of Genshin Impact, their banners will run at the same time. A miHoYo developer explained that both banners will share a pity system. Therefore, if you wish 80 times for Albedo, then 10 times on Eula, you will have a 50% chance to receive Eula. Of course, you would have a 100% chance of receiving the exclusive character if your last 5-star character on the limited event banner was a different 5-star character.

Moreover, Itto and Gourou will both be available on a traditional event banner after the double banner ends. Itto is a 5-star Geo claymore user whose character design lit up the internet. On the other hand, Gourou is a 4-star Geo bow user. We may already be acquainted with the General of Sangonomiya’s Resistance, but we will get to know Gourou better during his hangout event, which Beidou also receives.

Weapons

As usual, new characters also mean new weapons. First, we have Itto’s signature weapon, the 5-star Redhorn Stonethresher claymore. The weapon’s main stat is CRIT damage. Its ability increases DEF by 28% and also boosts normal and charged attack damage by 40% of DEF.

The 4-star Cinnabar Spindle sword increases DEF as its main stat. Its ability boosts Elemental Skill damage by 40% of DEF, but this skill can only be used once every 1.5 seconds. This effect resets 0.1 seconds after an Elemental Skill hits its target.

Artifacts

As stated earlier, the developers are attempting to make Geo characters and healers viable in the current meta. To do so, the game introduces two new artifact sets.

The Ocean-Hued Clam set provides a 15% healing bonus for the two-piece set. For the four-piece set, foam explodes, dealing damage that scales off the amount of healing the character has done within a three-second window. As a result, healers will have increased damage output.

On the other hand, the Husk of Opulent Dreams set increases DEF by 30% for the two-piece set. For the four-piece set, it increases Geo damage and DEF when the user unleashes Geo attacks.

Events

The latest Genshin Impact update may not offer a new area to explore like the last one, but it does bring along two new events. The version’s namesake, “Shadows Amidst Snowstorms” is also its main event. The event is riddled with challenges in Dragonspine that feature race tracks, hunting, exploration, and combat training. All of this is in the snow, of course, and the Sheer Cold mechanic will only make it harder.

Speaking of cold, metal Lures set all around the region will emit cold air that attracts monsters. Fortunately, they can be changed into heating points. Through completing challenges, you can earn Snowman Components. They can be used to decorate and build custom snowmen in Dragonspine and the Serenitea Pot. After finishing the event, the player will obtain the 4-star sword weapon, Cinnabar Spindle, for free. Lastly, the event will be accompanied by a limited-time story quest.

The second event in this version, “Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog”, is a stealth event that takes place in Inazuma. This event consists of rescuing missing animals throughout Inazuma. However, you must locate the lost animals while avoiding the Canine Bunshin ninja dog guarding them. To facilitate this task, the player can use the new Gadget Ubiquity Net to set fireworks and distract the dog. Once the event comes to an end, players will receive the Omni-Ubiquity Net. The device will enable you to invite certain creatures to your Serenitea Pot. Lastly, Paimon can now be invited into the Serenitea Pot as a companion.

New World Boss

The last update introduced Rifthounds. These monsters can negate shields and deal corrosive damage. Now, update 2.3 presents the Golden Wolflord World Boss, the king of the Rifthounds.

Evidently, this boss can also deal corrosive damage, so players will require strong healers to fight it. Additionally, the Golden Wolflord can also summon Rifthound Skulls to defend itself. However, in the latter stages of the fight, the boss’ own corrosion will decrease its Geo resistance, which will increase Geo damage from characters fighting it.

Genshin Impact Version 2.3: Shadows Amidst Snowstorms will be available on November 24.
