The Yakuza series has focused on the story of Kazuma Kiryu for 11 years, except for the next title, which moves in a different direction. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is set in modern Japan, offering a different look and style than previous Yakuza games. Combining elements of a party-based role-playing game with an action brawler.
Yakuza: Like a dragon is the 7th installment of the legendary JRPG series. Set in 2001, you play as Ichiban Kasuga. a low-ranking yakuza grunt left on the brink of death by the man he trusted most, Masumi Arakawa. After being informed someone needs to take the fall in a murder case, Kasuga agrees with the impression of being immortalized in the Arakawa family. After his jail release, Kasuga realizes his murder fall was in vain, and he has been completely forgotten. When Kasuga confronts Arakawa, he is shot in the chest and tossed into the trash. As you awake in Yokohama, your mission is to uncover what happened while you were in that jail cell.
Teaming up with a party of misfits, you take on job roles that define character classes and affect gameplay. For instance, taking over a confectionery company which sounds… interesting. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the first Yakuza game to use turn-based mechanics, allowing you to utilize abilities and strategy whilst you befriend some unique characters along the way.
The game was released in Japan in January this year as Yakuza 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness. So the question stands: when does it come out for everyone else?

Yakuza: Like A Dragon will be released on November 13 with a complete English dub. It’s set to release on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One this November. A next-gen upgrade is also expected to be available, but only Xbox Series X has confirmed that it will be available on launch day via Microsoft’s Smart Delivery. PlayStation 5 is reportedly in the works, but there is no further information.
If you look on Steam, Yakuza: Like a Dragon currently doesn’t have a release date. The Windows store previously featured a release date, but has since been removed.
