What Happened to Fortnite Mobile on iOS & Android?

Fortnite Mobile is seemingly unavailable on both iOS and Android storefronts, making players wonder exactly what happened to it.

Being the biggest battle royale title in the world, you’d expect Fortnite to keep up with the competition and have a mobile version of the game. However, if you were to go to the App Store or Play Store today, you wouldn’t be able to find Fortnite anywhere. Of course, this has made fans question what exactly happened to the Fortnite Mobile app. Fortunately for you, we’ve explained the whole situation below.

What Happened to Fortnite Mobile on iOS & Android?

The Fortnite mobile app has been unusable on iOS since August 2020 due to a lack of updates. This is because of the continued legal issues between Apple and Epic Games, which saw the mobile version of Fortnite permanently removed from the App Store. As a result of the lack of updates, the mobile version of Fortnite has not received any of the major events, leaving it perpetually stuck in Chapter 2, Season 3, nor can users use V-Bucks on it. Additionally, only players over the age of 18 have been able to use the app since January 30, 2023.

Of course, the Android version of the app is still available. However, you cannot download it via the Play Store; you must get it by downloading the Epic Games app and installing it through that. Additionally, players can still access it on the Xbox Cloud Gaming or GeForce Now services, which allow players to stream video games on other devices, including their phones. This method applies to both iOS and Android phones, making it the only way to play Fortnite mobile on an Apple mobile device.

That’s everything that there is to know about the Fortnite mobile app and its lack of presence on the iOS store and PlayStore. For more articles on Fortnite, just like this one, make sure to check out our Games Hub.
