Rise of the Ronin: How to Wait & Pass Time

Players can skip time in Rise of the Ronin in order to complete time-sensitive missions. However, you’ll need to unlock a certain item before you can.

While most missions in Rise of the Ronin can be completed without the need to change the time, there are a handful that require you to visit a location, meet a character, or accomplish a goal at a certain time of day. Of course, you could wait manually for the time to pass, but fortunately, Rise of the Ronin does feature a handy mechanic that lets you skip time instantly. You just have to unlock it first.

How to Change Time in Rise of the Ronin

To change the time of day in Rise of the Ronin, you will need to unlock the Pocket Watch. You unlock it during the Follow Your Blade Twin Main Mission during Chapter 1. Once you reach the Longhouse with Ryoma Sakamoto, he will give you the Pocket Watch. This will be after you’ve both arrived in Yokohama and met Taka.

To use the Pocket Watch, you’ll first need to assign it to one of the D-pad shortcuts. If you haven’t already assigned consumables to your quick-select menu, then the Pocket Watch should be automatically assigned to the down button. Once you’ve pressed it, you’ll be given three options: Morning, Noon, or Night. Select whichever time you want to skip to, and wait for the time to pass.

It’s also worth noting that you can rest while in the Longhouse, which also passes the time. You can do this by selecting the Relax option in the Longhouse menu. However, you won’t be able to pick a specific time to rest until so using the Pocket Watch is the most reliable method. That’s everything you need to know about passing the time in Rise of the Ronin.
