Once Human: How to Unlock & Use Emotes

Players can unlock an assortment of emotes in Once Human, ranging from the traditional to the hilarious. Here’s how you get and use them.

Who needs voice chat or a good sense of humor in online video games when you can simply use emotes. Once Human understands this better than anyone, as it’s array of emotes offers a plethora of ways to express yourself. Fortunately, they’re relatively easy to obtain and use. Below, we explain exactly how you use emotes, as well as how to unlock even more.

How to Use Emotes in Once Human

To use emotes, you will need to head to the Cosmetics tab in your inventory and then switch to the Expression section. This will show you the list of emotes you currently have unlocked on the left, as well as your customizable emotes wheel on the right. Emotes are split into two sections: Actions and Expressions. Actions are traditional emotes, whereas Expressions are animated icons that appear next to your head.

To equip emotes to your emote wheel, you’ll need to pick the emotes you want and assign them to any number key between 1 and 8. Then, to use the emote in the game, you need to hold down the X button to bring up the emote wheel and select the one you wish to use. It’s as simple as that. Fortunately, if you’re not happy with the default emotes available at the beginning of the game, you can unlock even more.
