No Rest for the Wicked: Can You Play it On Steam Deck?

No Rest for the Wicked is available on PC via Steam, but can players play it on the go on the Steam Deck? Here’s what you need to know.

While No Rest for the Wicked looks great on a PC, there’s nothing like playing an ARPG on the go. Fortunately, for Steam players, the Steam Deck seems like the perfect fit. If you’re a handheld gamer and can’t wait for it to drop on PlayStation to try it on the Portal, then you’re likely hoping it’s playable on the Deck. Fortunately, you’re in luck.

Can You Play No Rest for the Wicked on Steam Deck?

Yes, you can absolutely play No Rest for the Wicked on the Steam Deck. While it isn’t officially verified for the Steam Deck, it does run on the Steam Deck and fairly well too. Of course, it comes with a few minor setbacks, which is to be expected of a Steam Deck port. Fortunately, Moon Studios, the developer of No Rest for the Wicked, has an amazing track record of Steam Deck ports. This includes, obviously, the amazing Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Players will get between 30 – 40 FPS for the majority of their playthrough, with the worst frame drops bringing it down to between 20 – 25. The worst frame drops happen during cinematics. Fortunately, fans won’t need to worry about their inputs being delayed, as combat is constantly running at a smooth and consistent framerate. Of course, this will almost certainly be stabilized with future updates, but it’s fairly impressive considering the game’s lofty PC requirements.

Additionally, while it hasn’t been officially verified on Steam, this isn’t uncommon. Ori and the Will of the Wisps, for example, runs beautifully on Steam Deck. For many, it’s the best place to play it. However, it’s listed only as Playable and has not been fully verified. This is for incredibly minor issues, but Steam has a very strict verification policy. To get the green tick, you’ll need to check a lot of boxes that may not always be feasible. Fortunately, it seems like Moon Studios is working with Valve to verify it. However, even if it doesn’t, don’t let that dissuade you from playing it on Steam Deck. No Rest for the Wicked runs very impressively on the Steam Deck, and it is a great way to play it.
