Foamstars is a new title from Square Enix that will feature 4v4 multiplayer combat involving foam. It was previously announced at the 2023 PlayStation Showcase.
A trailer for the game was shown with cinematics as well as snippets of gameplay, showing off two teams battling it out in the arena. The trailer can be seen here.
What is Foamstars?
Foamstars is a 4v4 multiplayer shooter where players will use foam to attack, defend, and maneuver around the arena while fighting against the enemy team. Players use foam to build walls to be protected from attacks, build ramps to higher vantage points, or use them to surf and gain high speeds.
The setting and concept of the game look to be a competitor to Nintendo’s Splatoon but with the typical Square Enix charm.
Foamstars Characters Revealed
Foamstars features a diverse roster of characters that will be taking part in the foamy action. Each contender is colorful and brings a unique attitude to the game. So far, we know now that their names are Soa, Δgito, Tonix, Jet Justice, Mel T, The Baristador, Rave Breaker, and Pen Gwyn.
Each character looks like a load of fun to play, and players should have no problems either finding a favorite or playing as each character in the group.
Release Date Details
Foamstars will be blasting its way onto both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there is no confirmed release date yet.
