MultiVersus lineup with powerpuff girls

New MultiVersus Tease Suggests Powerpuff Girls Joining the Roster

A new promotion for Multiversus may have given away another lineup addition: the superpowered Powerpuff Girls.

MultiVersus, the brawler from Warner Bros, is returning in May. Recently, there have been teases of several characters that will be joining the game. As more and more promotions for the game are released, it seems that new teases are coming along with them. Even though the game has an extensive roster, the latest tease brings hope that the superpowered sister trio, known as The Powerpuff Girls, may be joining the fight.

Powerpuff Girls Teased For MultiVersus

The official MultiVersus X account (formerly Twitter) has released a new promotion featuring a background of Townsville, the home of The Powerpuff Girls. Various users on X, including NosyBoyYT, spotted this and pointed it out almost immediately. While we don’t see the actual Powerpuff Girls themselves, this does appear to indicate we’ll be getting Townsville as a stage. Of course, Townsville being included gives way to The Powerpuff Girls being introduced in MultiVersus at some point soon.

The Powerpuff Girls were huge during 1998-2004. They are three sisters known as Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. The superhero cartoon trio saved the world of Townsville from various villains such as Mojo Jojo, Gangreen Gang, and Him. The characters were created when Professor Ultonium, wanting to make the perfect girl, spilled Chemical X into the mixture. This action led to the creation of three different girls, each with superpowers. Of course, fans will want to test their powers on other Warner Bros. icons in battle within MultiVersus. Below, you can see the official promotion. It reveals an outfit for Superman in the game and the Townsville stage tease in the background.

Other Stages Have Teased Characters in MultiVersus

A stage giving away a character isn’t something new. As a matter of fact, recently, in another promotional clip, Dexter from Dexter’s Laboratory was also teased. The character’s stage was shown in a quick 20-second montage of different fighters. Dexter’s sister Dee Dee was also spotted on the stage, giving further credence to the fact that the character is coming to the game. It would only make sense as adding a stage without the character would seem odd.

We still have a little way to go until MultiVersus releases on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. However, that gives time for more promotions to be released for the game, which, in turn, means more possible teases for characters. The roster will almost certainly only get bigger with time, and the addition of The Powerpuff Girls would be another welcome choice by fans.
