Modern Warfare 3 will launch with a whole set of brand-new maps and modes for players to experience.
With the release of Modern Warfare 3 right around the corner, fans are clamoring to learn more about the new maps coming to the game. Fortunately, all launch maps have already been announced, and some modes have been confirmed too.
All Modern Warfare 3 Maps
There are 16 maps in Modern Warfare 3 at launch, all of which are remakes of maps from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Here is a complete list of every map in Modern Warfare 3 at launch:
- Afghan
- Derail
- Estate
- Favela
- Karachi
- Highrise
- Invasion
- Quarry
- Rundown
- Rust
- Scrapyard
- Skidrow
- Sub Base
- Terminal
- Underpass
- Wasteland
Sledgehammer Games’ Art Director Matt Abbott spoke about remaking the old maps for Modern Warfare 3 in an Intel Drop on the Call of Duty blog. He spoke about how they wanted to make each map as faithful to the originals while making them “the best versions of those maps that people have ever played.”

All Modern Warfare 3 Modes
There will be 3 main modes for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 at launch. These include:
- Campaign
- Multiplayer
- Zombies
Only 1 multiplayer mode has been officially announced, called Cutthroat, which is a 3v3v3 experience. However, beyond that, not much information has been given. Outside of this mode, we know that there will be Battle Maps, so modes like Ground War and Invasion will also be in the game.
Additionally, there is a good chance that players will see the majority of modes from MW2 (2022) as well as the classic COD modes that ship with every game.
