Senua in Hellblade 2

How Long to Beat Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

If you were hoping Hellblade 2 would take a long time to beat, you may be a little disappointed. Here’s how long it takes to beat Senua’s Saga.

The first Hellblade game, Senua’s Sacrifice, was a short but action-packed adventure that told a cinematic story, unlike any other game before it. Fortunately, the sequel is looking to do more of the same. However, this time it is utilizing next-gen technology to push the bar when it comes to cinematic storytelling. Below, we explain just how long it takes to beat Hellblade 2.

How Long Is Hellblade 2?

It will take players 8 hours to beat Hellblade 2’s main story and see the end credits roll. Players looking to do absolutely everything the game has to offer and take their time with the story will take 10 hours to beat it. The game is intended to be a shorter, narrative-focused, cinematic adventure with a lower price point.

Ninja Theory, the game’s developer, has said that Hellblade 2 is “a game similar in length to the first Hellblade, with a focused narrative, and sold digital-only at a price of $49.99 USD.” This was, according to Dom Matthews, the Studio Head at Ninja Theory, a purposeful decision. It allowed them to take “advantage of the freedom that digital-only distribution offered us to create a game of the length that fit perfectly with our intended experience.” The first game in the series, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, took players 8 hours to beat the main story and 9 hours for a completionist run.

So, Hellblade 2 will be a fairly short experience overall. The first game had very little side content outside of a handful of collectibles. We suspect that the sequel will follow a similar design philosophy to avoid the player getting too distracted. So, don’t go in expecting grand Witcher 3-esque side quests or even something like Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. That’s everything you need to know about how long Hellblade 2 takes to beat.
