Metaphor: ReFantazio, Atlus’ newest entry in the RPG genre, finally has a release date. So, here is everything you need to know about it beforehand.
Atlus has made its name name with gorgeous RPG titles, especially the Persona series. If you are a big fan of RPGs, Atlus, or looking to branch out into new ground, then you may be looking forward to Metaphor: ReFantazio. Luckily, we have you covered on everything there is to know about this latest title from Atlus.
Metaphor: ReFantazio Release Date
Metaphor: ReFantazio is releasing on Friday, October 11, 2024. Unlike some other titles, there is no early access available by pre-ordering the game.
Metaphor: ReFantazio’s director, Katsura Hashino, officially confirmed the release date. The announcement came during the official Atlus Exclusive Showcase on Monday, April 22, 2024. Players will have a few months to wait until it is available on their preferred platform.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is releasing on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam. It seems the title is not currently planned to be released on the Epic Games Store.
Perhaps surprisingly, it is also being released on the PlayStation 4. However, interestingly, the Xbox One will not be getting it. While there is a chance that the game could be released on the previous-generation Xbox, it is very unlikely.
What Is Metaphor: ReFantazio?
Metaphor: ReFantazio is a third-person fantasy role-playing game. The game takes place in the world of Euchronia. As the king has just been assassinated, a new royal head must rise. However, something known as the Royal Magic is invoked, and with that, a tournament takes place, with the throne being the prize.
The protagonist journeys across the land searching for a way to break the curse placed upon the once-thought-dead prince. During the adventure, players will also enlist in the tournament to figure out how to save the royal line. Along the way, they will meet various characters who are helping to right wrongs in a world going awry.
Metaphor: Refantazio is similar to the Persona games in terms of gameplay. Combat focuses is a mix of turn-based and real-time combat, with a focus on defeating enemies by exploiting their weaknesses. Players will be able to explore an open world filled with a plethora of side content and dungeons to battle through. Additionally, as it was with Persona, you’ll have to manage your time effectively. Players must use their time to decide whether to search dungeons, improve relationships with their party members, and much more.

Metaphor: ReFantazio has had various trailers to tease the game, like the game’s announcement and details on the Royal Tournament element. However, during the April 2024 Atlus Exclusive Showcase, a 25-minute gameplay trailer of the game was also revealed. It shows various aspects, including the narrative and gameplay features. Does Metaphor: ReFantazio Have A Season Pass?
No, according to the official gameplay trailer during the Atlus Exclusive Showcase, Metaphor: ReFantazio does not have a Season Pass.
A Collector’s Edition of the game is shown at the end of the showcase, including a list of the contents. However, when looking through the list, there is no mention of a Season Pass for the game. As with previous Atlus titles, namely the Persona games, the Season Pass format was absent from them, and it seems their newest title will follow the trend as well.
Metaphor: ReFantazio Pre-Order Bonus
The pre-order bonus for Metaphor: ReFantazio is the Archetype EXP Item Set and the Adventurer’s Journey Pack. The bonuses are included in both the game’s Standard Edition and the Collector’s Edition.
The Archetype EXP Set boosts the Archetypes in the game, meaning players can level up their unique power forms. Furthermore, the Adventurer’s Journey Pack will provide consumables to assist players in their adventures.
