LEGO Fortnite: Malachite Location & Crafting Uses

Malachite is a precious resource needed to craft multiple high-level utility items that enhance your overall experience in LEGO Fortnite.

LEGO Fortnite introduces many resources for players to find as they explore, one being the tedious-to-find Malachite. Although Malachite is not needed for anything vital in LEGO Fortnite, it is necessary if you’re interested in easing your experience as you explore different biomes and fight brutes. Below, we outline the steps on how to obtain Malachite.

Where To Find Malachite In LEGO Fortnite

Malachite is a precious, green-colored ore deposit that you will only find deep in LEGO Fortnite’s Frostlands. Malachite can be easily spotted due to its bright green appearance. However, it’s a resource you’ll either find climbing up cliffs or sitting on ledges in hard-to-reach spots. This may make it difficult to find at times, but it should be easier to locate if you’re looking in the right places.

Due to your LEGO Fortnite World being randomized, Malachite can also be found in groups around standard rock formations in the Frostlands. These rock formations can be found anywhere in the Frostlands, which means if you don’t have a Grappler or used all your resources to build, you still have a chance to find Malachite on the ground if you can’t access the usual areas it is found.

How To Prepare To Mine Malachite In LEGO Fortnite

To prepare to mine Malachite in LEGO Fortnite, you will need to craft an Inner Fire Charm, stock up on Spicy Peppers, or have the available materials to craft Campfires. Additionally, bringing an Epic Pickaxe is essential as Malachite is only mineable with this tier of Pickaxe. However, this Pickaxe is only available from an Epic Crafting Table; you’ll need to upgrade your Crafting Table if you do not have the Epic rarity.

It’s important to have a source to warm up your character, as the cold will slowly deteriorate your health if you don’t, much like the Dry Valley’s heat. Players will also benefit from crafting a Grappler to obtain Malachite around the Frostlands cliffs. This will make getting to hard-to-reach locations easier as you won’t need to build up to the Malachite you find and free up space in your inventory for more resources to hold in LEGO Fortnite.
