LEGO Fortnite lets fans play co-operatively through online multiplayer, but is there a split-screen mode? Here’s what you need to know.
Fortnite added a split-screen option on consoles in Chapter 2 Season 1, allowing players to party up on the same couch and enjoy the game together. So, it’s no surprise that when a LEGO mode was announced for Fortnite, players immediately assumed that it would be split-screen. After all, LEGO games are famous for their split-screen gameplay. But does the new mode actually let you play split-screen? Here are the details.
Can You Play LEGO Fortnite Split-Screen?
No, unfortunately, you cannot play LEGO Fortnite in split-screen co-op. This applies to all platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch. Unlike Fortnite, LEGO Fortnite lacks a split-screen mode at launch. However, Epic Games has stated that the mode is simply “currently unavailable.” So, it is possible that a split-screen mode will be added in the future.
Fans may be surprised, especially considering that practically every LEGO game features some form of split-screen co-op. Of course, you can still play LEGO Fortnite with friends on servers of up to 8 players. However, it is strictly online multiplayer, and there is no option for offline local multiplayer.
If you were hoping to play LEGO Fortnite with a friend on your couch, you’re out of luck. We’ll make sure to update this article if a split-screen mode does get added in the future. Until then, be sure to check out our Games Hub for more articles just like this one.
