Hades 2: Is It Coming to Consoles?

Hades 2 is blowing up on Steam in Early Access, but will it be coming to consoles? We have you covered on all the details.

Supergiant Games’ sequel to the Greek mythology roguelike Hades 2 is doing incredible in Steam Early Acess. At the time of writing, the game has over 25,000 Steam reviews, with 94% of them being positive. It improves upon the original, keeping the roguelike elements but introducing new features like resources for crafting, incantations, and more. As it is doing so well, many are curious and hoping that Hades 2 will head to consoles. Below, we explain whether Hades 2 is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Is Hades 2 Coming to PlayStation, Xbox & Nintendo Switch?

Yes, Hades 2 will be coming to consoles, although the exact platforms haven’t been announced. This was confirmed via the game’s FAQ page, where developer Supergiant Games states, “We expect for Hades II to eventually be available for PC, Mac, and console platforms (though cannot confirm which platforms yet).”

Of course, it makes sense that it would eventually come to consoles, especially considering that, despite being in Early Access, Hades 2 is currently sitting at the #1 spot on the Best Seller chart. Additionally, the first game was released on consoles after the game launched on PC, so it’s no surprise that Hades 2 will follow suit.

Of course, we don’t know exactly whether it will be coming to both last-gen and next-gen or whether it’ll even come to every console platform. Many games in recent years have been available on next-generation consoles only, such as Stellar Blade. Considering that Hades 2 is technically demanding, it’s possible that Supergiant Games could be looking not to split up their resources and only develop the game for present consoles. However, we won’t know for sure until more details about the console launch for the game are announced.

When Can We Expect Hades 2 To Come To Consoles?

We can likely see the console release of Hades 2 in the latter half of 2025. According to Supergiant Games, the developers of Hades 2 on the game’s official Steam page, the Early Access period is expected to run until the end of 2024.

Therefore, once the Early Access process ends, the 1.0 version of the game will be available for PC players to enjoy. After Hades 2 releases on PC, we can expect the game to come to consoles later on. For context, the first Hades game hit 1.0 on September 17, 2020, with consoles getting it on August 13, 2021. Because of this, a late 2025-early 2026 launch for consoles is likely to be the case. However, there is no official confirmation from Supergiant Games on this.
