Enshrouded lets up to 16 players join up and explore its vast world, but is there crossplay between different platforms? Here’s what you need to know.
If you’ve decided to pick up Enshrouded, the latest game to launch into the survival crafting craze, then you may be wondering if there’s crossplay. After all, one of its best features is the ability to partner up with 15 friends and glide across its rolling fields together. Unfortunately, if you were hoping there’s crossplay, you may be a little disappointed. Below, we explain whether Enshrouded has crossplay and cross-platform progression.
Enshrouded does not have crossplay as it is currently a Steam exclusive. This means there is no crossplay with other platforms, such as Xbox and PlayStation, as well as no crossplay between PC platforms, such as the Epic Games Store. However, developer Keen Games has confirmed that they would like to implement crossplay in the future.
In response to a fan’s question on X (formerly Twitter), Keen Games said that adding crossplay functionality at launch “would be the ideal scenario.” Enshrouded is launching on Xbox and PlayStation 5 at launch, so it seems like the intention is to have crossplay across all platforms when it releases into 1.0.
No, Enshrouded does not have cross-platform progression. You cannot transfer your save to other platforms currently, as Enshrouded is only available on Steam. It is possible that cross-platform saves could be implemented when it leaves Early Access and comes to consoles. However, it is important to note that Keen Games’ other title, Portal Knights, did not have cross-save functionality.
