Indie Symphony Pays Homage to Indie Games, Tickets Available Now

Indie Symphony, an event celebrating indie music, is making its way to Australia soon and it’s a must-see for indie game fans.

Symphonies have been paying tribute to the incredible music of video games for many years. Many of them are not the original orchestra but they play the music just as well. These events consist of them conducting iconic songs from many different video games. All the while scenes featuring that specific piece of music are displayed on a screen in the background.

Over the years, symphonies have been done for the music of The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, and more. Now, an ever-growing genre looks to have its own great event, taking place down under.

What is Indie Symphony?

Under the guidance of the Orchestra Victoria, Indie Symphony aims to pay tribute to numerous exceptional games by performing their music. While the soundtrack of Hollow Knight takes the spotlight as the primary piece of the symphony, other indie titles such as Journey, Stray Gods, Celeste, Necrobarista, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and the award-winning Hades also have their captivating music conducted during the event.

Every game showcased serves as a testament to the skill of Australian game developers, composers, musicians, orchestrators, and fans. Placing great importance on representation, the concert shines a spotlight on the accomplishments of women and gender-diverse creatives who have frequently been overlooked in these areas.

Our local digital games sector is internationally renowned for producing some of the most creative and hottest games on the market. VicScreen is delighted to partner with Orchestra Victoria and local developers to deliver this mind blowing and immersive experience, showcasing extraordinary digital games soundtracks through the mastery of over 60 musicians. This is set to be a special event that is not to be missed.
