Yes, you can customize your character in Helldivers 2. While you cannot change their physical appearance, you can customize their armor. You’ll have to unlock new pieces of armor, as well as guns, in order to customize your character. Thanks to the new third-person perspective, your armor choices will have a much greater impact.
You’ll unlock new armor, helmets, and capes by spending medals, which are unlocked by completing Orders and Operations. These can then be equipped from your ship and brought into battle outside of the cosmetic difference. They also change your stats and grant you a passive bonus. You don’t have to spend any real-world money in order to unlock additional cosmetics. It can all be earned in game.
