Hypnos, the God of sleep, doesn’t seem to want to wake up and help you out in Hades 2. So, how do you get him to finally stir from his slumber?
Hypnos featured in the original Hades as an NPC that occasionally chimed in with some advice. Fortunately, for fans of the sleepy God, he’s returned in Hades 2, only now he’s perpetually asleep. As it happens, between the events of Hades 1 and Hades 2, Hypnos has just had one really long nap. You can find him sleeping away in his hammock to the right of Hecate and the cauldron in the Crossroads. Of course, those who’ve attempted to speak to him will have noticed he won’t wake up. But is it actually possible to wake him up?
Can You Wake Up Hypnos in Hades 2?
No, there is no way to wake up Hypnos in Hades 2. Currently, the only thing you can do is to give him Nectar. Doing so makes him say a couple of indecipherable words, after which he returns back to sleep. You can give him a second gift, which will make him say a few more indecipherable words before he goes back to sleep again. After this, you can’t give him any more gifts, and nothing you do will wake him up. Even beating Chronos does nothing to stir Hypnos from his very, very deep slumber.
If you keep talking to him, his character page will get updated, but Hypnos will still stay asleep. Other characters in the Crossroads, including Nemesis and Odysseus, will try and talk to him, but this also does nothing. It seems like, as of right now, this is locked content that will be expanded on throughout the Early Access phase. Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if Hypnos wakes up when Hades 2 launches into 1.0 as a fun way to celebrate the full launch of the game.
However, for right now, there’s nothing you can do to wake Hypnos up. We imagine that when he eventually does get out of his hammock, he’ll give you a Keepsake or Boon or even offer some helpful tidbits like he did in the first game.
