What is God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC?

The story of the DLC is an epilogue to God of War: Ragnarok. Following the final battle against Odin, it leads players on a personal journey with Kratos, accompanied by Mimir. This journey to the mysterious shores of Valhalla includes exploring Kratos’s past and internal struggles, offering a fresh narrative perspective into the game.

One of the aspects of the expansion is its combat system, which merges the familiar mechanics of God of War: Ragnarok with elements inspired by roguelite games. Whenever Kratos falls in combat, he reawakens, ready for another try. Each attempt lets players gather resources and knowledge to invest in permanent upgrades.

The DLC allows significant customization in terms of equipment and skills. While Kratos retains access to all his weapons and fully upgraded skill trees, players can make strategic choices for each play attempt and have access to stat upgrades, perks that can alter the gameplay. In this expansion, armor serves only a visual purpose, allowing players to unlock various styles and mix and match them to their preference.

God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla Release Date

The design of the DLC allows players to access it at any stage of the game and jump in anytime, although we recommend finishing the main game first to avoid spoilers.
