Exodus, the latest game from developer Archetype Entertainment, was announced at The Game Awards 2023. Here are all the details.

Celebrity cameos at The Game Awards are not a new phenomenon, but celebrities promoting games they’re in are. Surprisingly, there were a few this year, with one of them being Interstellar’s own, Matthew McConaughey. Fittingly, he announced a brand new game from Austin-based developer Archetype Entertainment. It is all about an interstellar astronaut who deals with time dilation while attempting to find humanity a new home. That game is Exodus; below, we give you all the details.

What Is Exodus?

Exodus is a third-person sci-fi action-adventure role-playing game developed by Archetype Entertainment. It is a story-driven game with a heavy emphasis on choice, with every decision you make affecting your relationships with the game’s cast of characters. Notably, it features the debut video game role of Matthew McConaughey, who lends his voice to one of the characters.

In Exodus, humanity is in search of a new home after the powerful beings, The Celestials, destroyed Earth. It is your job as The Traveler to venture out into space in search of Celestial weapons and technology to help you fight back and forge a path through the stars. However, thanks to Time Dilation, every day you spend on your mission is years back at home. Your choices will affect just how much time passes for your loved ones, and you’ll have to go back after each mission to face the consequences. You can check out the trailer for Exodus below:

Exodus Release Date & Platforms

Currently, Exodus does not have an official release date. It is launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will be skipping last-gen consoles entirely, as well as the Nintendo Switch.
